Julia Jansch

Julia is a writer/director/ producer, born and raised in South Africa, living in NYC. Throughout her career, she’s always found herself on the cusp of major cultural and technological shifts in content. 

She began her career in development at FremantleMedia in 2010 with the evolution of the first premium digital channels. After two years developing original digital properties, she was transferred to Los Angeles to launch one of YouTube’s first premium channels as well as help set up Fremantle’s original digital content division. She transferred to RadicalMedia in NYC where she was instrumental in the development of properties ranging from CNE’s first slate of digital video platforms, Netflix’s “Abstract,” YouTube’s “THNKR,” and American Express’ “UNstaged.” 

In 2017 she went independent and wrote her first pilot/short, “Far From The Castle”, which she directed in April 2018. She is currently in post production on the short and is in development on a series inspired by the short.
She has an MBA from Oxford University, a Masters in Global Governance from Oxford University, a Masters in Brand Management from Vega, a Politics, Philosophy and Economics degree from Stellenbosch University, and a filmmaking diploma from The New York Film Academy. 

Julia is an advisor to The Wellbeing Project - A global initiative focused on shifting the culture of the social change field to one oriented towards inner wellbeing.
